- RC> I was wondering if anyone in the netland knows what type of modems are

-
- Yes, select a modem that offers MNP-10 operation. Both ends of the
- link will have to have this set (-k1 in init string) as default
-
- RC> Any ideas/pointers is much appreciated. Is there a particular brand
- RC> that works well?
-
- As a budget modem with this look at the Zoom v34/i It's specs are printed
- on the back of the pack (model 275) I sugges the internal because I don't
- know which computer your brother has and if it's got old UART's (use
- MSD.EXE to check) then internals' onboard 16550 will take care of most
- comport needs.
-
- RC> What are the technical specifications one need to
- RC> look into when buying a modem?
-
- You'll have to supply your own 'phone cord. The US/US one in the pack may
- not be of use. In UK, a US/UK one is supplied for free.
